Spray brooch

1820 - 1830

Spray brooches started to become popular in the second half of the eighteenth century. These jewels were often even more spectacular than they appeared at first glance. For example, the flowers were sometimes mounted on a spring so that they trembled as the wearer moved, and many were multifunctional , i.e. the brooch could also be used as a pendant or hairpin or divided up into several smaller jewels.
