Sunburst monstrance

The cartouche on the foot shows: the Lamb of God on the Book of Seven Seals, St. Catherine of Sienna, St. Peter of Verona, St. Dominicus of Guzman. The cartouches on opposite sides of the cuppa show: St. Hyacinthus of Cracow and St. Thomas of Aquinr. The four evangelists: there's the Marcus lion in the upper right-hand corner above the volute, then there's Matthew angel in the back above the cuppa, the Luke's ox to the left above the volute and St. John in front above the cuppa with a banderole: CARO FACTUM/EST (Jo, 1, 14). There are angels kneeling on both sides of the lunula. Above the lunula are God the Father and the Holy Ghost. The engraved inscription at the back of the foot rim reads: P.F. GASPAR PAUWENS MISSI. AMSTELODAMI ET PROTONOTARIUS APOSTOL. S. ORD. PRAEDICAT. 20 MARTY 1693. Gaspar Pauwens was born in 1649. He took his vows in Antwerp on July 14th 1670 and went to Amsterdam in 1684. Pauwens became protonotarius in approximately 1692. He died on March 14th 1698.
