Silversmith in Antwerp. Born in Mons in 1759 as the son of Franciscus Petit. As a child he went to Antwerp. Studied there at the Academy and became second laureate for drawing from casts in 1777. Master in 1782. That same year he married Catharina Mertens, daughter of silversmith Joannes Ludovicus Mertens. Brother-in-law of the goldsmiths and silversmiths Peter Mertens and Franciscus Willaert. Was active till 1820. Moved to Mechelen (Malines). Died in 1826.
