Discover the timeless lost-wax technique for creating detailed jewellery.

In a world of mass production and speed, Slow Design is becoming increasingly valuable. The DIVA atelier invites you to slow down and explore the lost-wax technique. Bring mind and hands together and create something truly special.

The Technique

The lost-wax technique, also known as cire perdue, is a casting method that has been used for thousands of years to create objects. It allows for complex and highly detailed designs to be cast, making it particularly suitable for jewellery making.

The Workshop

Who is it for?
All creative makers are welcome, whether you have a little or plenty of experience.

What will you learn?
You will make rubber and silicone moulds and inject them with wax. Following best practice, you will build your models onto a casting tree. You will learn the processes of investing and burnout, and cast jewellery using a vacuum casting machine or centrifugal caster.

Tutor
Kathleen Frisson is a jewellery designer and lecturer at d’Academie in Sint-Niklaas.
