Vincent Claes was born on the 15th of July 1861 in Antwerp. He was the brother of Frans Claes with whom he founded the firm 'Frères Claes' in 1885. They were trade representatives, located at the 'Hooghuis' at the Grote Goddaard in Antwerp. Both were known as 'préparateurs d’objets d’histoire naturelle, objets ethnographiques, etc.’. Vincent died the 5th of July 1949 in Antwerp.
