Ateliers Pierre Vansteeger

On 1 April 1945, Pierre Vansteeger (°1901) took over Simonet-Deanscutter's studio in Georges Moreaustraat number 66 in Anderlecht. An atelier he had set up on the third floor of the complex in 1932-1933 as a goldsmith-designer for Adolphe Simonet (1883-1946). His barrel-shaped maker's mark, which he apparently did not register, includes the coat of arms of the municipality of Forest and his initials PV. This mark was also printed on his designs and on photographs of tableware he made. Léopold Alexandre Vansteeger, son of Pierre and Marcelle Moset (°1902), took over the workshop with his mother in 1951 as a result of his father's death.
