van den Dool, Hillebertus Hollart

Silversmith from Schoonhoven (the Netherlands). Started on the 7th of April 1820. In 1824 he was convicted to a fine and six years of imprisonment because he had practised overstamping of hallmarks. Worked with one servant and three pupils. Among other things he manufactured book clasps, cachets, gold rings and pendants. He also had a bakery. At a certain moment he closed down the silversmith workshop and sold it to G. Hoogwinkel. He then expanded the goldsmith workshop. He definitively closed down on the 4th of October 1848. In 1857 he left for Arnhem to become a supervisor at the cutting down of trees.
