Vinckenbosch, Jacques

Silversmith from Hasselt. Born on the 12th of January 1798 as the son of brewer and jenever distiller Henri Vinckenbosch (1755-1848) from Wilderen and of Anna Christina Kindermans from Alken. C. 1816 his maker's mark was registered on the registration plate in Maastricht. In 1820 he married Joanna Christina Vandercapellen (1796-1878). He had a large workshop with several goldsmith and silversmith journeymen and gold polishers. Was certainly active till 1860. In 1861 the workshop was taken over by silversmith Leonard Philippen (1832-1912), who, in 1896, married Anna Christina Hubertina Vinckenbosch, a niece of Jacques Vinckenbosch. Vinckenbosch was also active as a jenever distiller. Died on the 21st of June 1876.
