Ruys, Raymond

1885/10/10 - 1956/11/07

Antwerp silversmith. In 1919 Raymond Ruys (1886-1956) took over the jeweller's shop A. Ruys-Ramboux in the Sint-Jorispoort in Antwerp from his father Albert Ruys. Raymond Ruys did not have his own silver workshop and therefore co-operated closely with the company Delheid frères from Brussels, of whom he sold Art Deco silverware in the 1920's. On the occasion of the world fair Raymond Ruys designed in 1930 a number of unique silver objects that were executed by Raymond Delheid from Brussels. In 1947 his nephew, Robert Ruys, took over the company.
