Silversmith in Bergen (Mons). Born in 1736 as the son of Pierre Joseph de Bettignies. Married to Catherine Dethuin, scion of a family of silversmiths. Became a master in 1763 and was silversmith to the Chapter of Ste-Waltrudis from 1784 to 1794. Died after 1810. Father of silversmith François Joseph de Bettignies.
