van Beughen, Jan Carel II

Antwerp silversmith. Born in the 1680's as the son of silversmith Davidt I van Beughen. In 1697 he studied drawing and moulding 'om silversmit te worden' under Joannes Claudius de Cock (1667-1735) in the Guild of St-Lucas. In 1716 he married Joanna Catharina de la Croix, daughter of silversmith Antonie de la Croix. He was alderman in 1722, co-dean in 1723 and dean in 1724-1726. He died in 1745. His widow continued the workshop till 1750.
