Huybrechts, Jacobus

Antwerp silversmith. Born in 1741 as the son of silversmith Joannes Baptiste Michael Huybrechts II (+ 1752). In 1758 he served his apprenticeship with silversmith Joannes Ludovicus Mertens. In 1764 he took over his father's workshop that had been continued until then by his mother. In 1769 he married Maria van Weirlijckhuyzen. He remarried to Maria Cassé, sister of silversmith Jan Baptist Cassé (1712-1777). Co-dean in 1780, dean in 1781 and 1793. He also was a sworn moneychanger. He was active till 1799. He died in 1814.
