Men's ring
1825 - 1875
This sumptuous ring is probably a bishop’s ring. The cross and the crossed palm branches on the sides suggest a religious context. Every bishop is given a ring and cross on his enthronement as a sign of his rank and authority. This nineteenth-century example is lavish in design and has a large green emerald in the centre.
