This photograph in 'boudoir' format shows Baron Henri on horseback and, in the background, Schilde Castle after rebuilding and renovation work carried out from1876 by the Parisian architect Henri Parent (1819-1895). Baron Henri van de Werve (1844-1924) was burgomaster of Schilde for 52 years. He gave the municipality (among other things) a school, new local government offices and he also had the church renovated. The museum has a number of plans and drawings of his building projects in its possession.
