This is an ancestral portrait of Suzanna Lunden-Fourment, Hélène Fourment’s sister. Hélène Fourment was P.P. Rubens’ second wife. Pierre Lunden was very interested in the Antwerp artist and he liked to underline the family connection, albeit distant. For generations the portrait was owned by the Lunden family.
