This French sculptor was born in Monaco on the 19th of March 1768. With the help of Prince Honoré I of Monaco, he was apprenticed to sculptor Augustin Pajou (1730 - 1809) in France. In 1808 he was commissioned to design reliefs for a monumental column for the Place Vêndome in Paris. He became a sculptor for Napoleon I that year and made, among other things, a marble portrait bust of Empress Josephine. Bosio was made a knight of the Ordre de Saint-Michel in 1821, and was referred to as 'Premier sculpteur du Roi'. He also became an officer of the Légion d'honneur and in 1825, he was given the title of Earl, but with the reign of Louis Philippe, he had to renounce these titles. In 1828, Bosio made a new quadriga for the Arc de Triomphe. Aside from his work for the emperor, he made numerous marble mythological statues. He died on the 29th of July 1845, in Paris.
