Salima Thakker got her training as a jewel designer and silversmith at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp. When she got her degree in 1997 she did an apprenticeship in the Instituto Statale d'Arte Padova by Pietro Selvatico. From 1998 until 2000 she got her master's degree as a silver- and goldsmith at the Royal College of Art, London. She exhibits worldwide and won a wide range of awards. Her studio is located in Wuustwezel, she sells her jewelry at her flagship stores in Antwerp and Knokke.
