Pyramid piano

The oldest form of upright piano, the 'pyramid piano', has a pyramid soundbox and in terms of construction resembles a roll-top desk. This pyramid piano has a Viennese mechanism with a range of 5.5 octaves. The hammer-heads are covered with deerskin.
