Cup and saucer

1829 - 1840

This cup with neo-Gothic motif is made of pressed glass. The glass-pressing machine was invented in the United States of America at the beginning of the nineteenth century. By 1825 the process had arrived in Wallonia, causing a revolution in the glass industry.
