Mantle clock

The mantle clock is decorated with a representation of Venus and Cupid. A very similar clock by the same François Béliard (c.1723-1795) is illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Encyclopédie de la pendule française du Moyen Age au XXe siècle, Paris, 1997, p 247. François Béliard was clockmaker to King Louis XVI of France (1754-1793) from 1781.
