Group: Children playing with a goat

Little groups such as this one were placed on the table or on the mantelpiece as decoration. They are usually unmarked. The manufacture of biscuit figures at the Tournai factory was influenced by Nicolas Joseph Gauron (°1736), who worked there from 1758 to1764 and before that was a modeller in Mennecy (F). Consequently, the theme of children playing with a goat was produced in both factories.
