Knight on horseback

The face of this silver figurine of a knight on horseback is made of ivory which makes it stand out. It conjures up an image of a dashing young prince on a white horse coming to the rescue of a damsel in distress. Both the knight and the horse are kitted out in protective gear. This type of figurine was particularly popular among the rich German bourgeoisie at the beginning of the twentieth century.
