This summer DIVA will be opening wide the doors of her atelier for workshops for both novice and more experienced silversmiths.
If you are a beginner, you will be taught the basic techniques of gold and silversmithing, like sawing, filing, sanding and soldering, and return home triumphantly with a silver dish of your own making! Those who have already mastered the basics will be able to put their own design ideas into practice.
in July and the beginning of August 2018 will be led by Anja Baelus, who will teach beginners and advanced participants side by side, providing individual guidance as required.
When?
You choose at least three consecutive days from the available dates.
- Monday July 9th to Friday 13th 2018
- Monday July 23rd to Friday 27th 2018
- Monday July 30th to Friday August 3rd 2018
Please note! Participants are limited to 10 per day.
Fees and enrolments
€90 per day. Friends of DIVA receive a 10% discount.
Coffee, tea and water are included, as are the materials used in the workshops. Lunch and any overnight accommodation are not included.
How to enrol
- Surf to our ticket module.
- From the list of available dates, choose the date on which you would like to start your series of workshops and click on 'Order tickets'.
- Select '1' and click 'Order'.
- A blue box will appear at the top of the page. Click to choose a minimum of two more consecutive dates.
- Log in or register as a new customer.
- Select your preferred method of payment and pay.
Please note! Only one person can be enrolled on a summer workshop at any one time using the same account.
You have to cancel your workshop? For cancellations up to a week (7 working days) before the start of the workshop, you forfeit €50 administration costs. If you cancel less than a week before the start, no money will be refunded, but you can always suggest someone to take your place. In the event of too few (paying) participants, the organizer reserves the right to cancel a workshop, in which case you will be refunded in full.
About Anja Baelus
Anja Baelus teaches Jewellery Design, Gold- and Silversmithing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. For Anja Baelus, sheer joy is to feel pure metals and turn them into objects. She looks for the warmth in metals and tries to capture it naturally and spontaneously in her work. Anja has run silversmithing courses for many years, first for the Silver Museum and now for DIVA.
