The following is engraved on three sides of the upright edge of the base - the fourth is missing: ET PIAE MEMORIA ILLUSST AC / REVEREND. D. DOMINUS. IACOBUS. THEODORUS DE BRYAS / ARCHIEPISCOP. CAMERACENSIS. Jacob Theodore de Bryas (1630-1694) was Archbishop of Cambrai (1675-1694) and spiritual advisor and annunciator to the Grand Council of Mechelen (Malines) (1666-1672). The representation and the various parts are authentic, but the marks are fake.
