Masterpieces in Miniature: Insights from the Curators.

The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Collection, now housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, is one of the most significant collections of European decorative arts acquired privately in the twentieth century. Built up by an indefatigable couple over a forty-year-period, it comprises nearly 1,000 masterpieces – works created from precious metals, gold snuffboxes, enamel portraits and mosaics – chosen for their virtuosity, magnificence and rarity.

With a spectacular presentation at DIVA, the museum for diamonds, jewellery and silver in Antwerp, the Masterpieces in Miniature exhibition offers a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in The Gilberts world of dazzling masterpieces.

Join Alice Minter & Jessica Eddie, curators of the Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert collection and of the exhibition, for an evening lecture as they will share further insights on the fascinating collecting habits of the Gilberts and on some of the most iconic pieces of the collection.
