Filigree is a technique that has been used by jewellers since ancient times and is still popular among jewellery designers today. It involves curling, twisting and braiding fine gold or silver wire, which is then soldered together and arranged in a decorative motif. It’s a precise job that will have a delicate result. Try it yourself and go home with your own piece of jewellery.

For whom?

This workshop is suitable for participants with some prior knowledge and experience. You should at least be able to file and solder.

By whom?

Nathalie Perneel makes sure you don't lose the thread. She studied jewellery design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and The Royal College of Art in London. Her work has been exhibited several times and has received the Antwerp's Most Brilliant Label. When it comes to designing jewellery, Nathalie lets her ideas flow from the material or a particular technique. For her it is essential to work ethically and sustainably with raw materials and gemstones.
